Transport Board workers end work stoppage

Transport Board workers will be back on the job tomorrow.

This was disclosed by general secretary of the Barbados Workers Union (BWU) Toni Moore following talks with management of the Transport Board and the Ministry of Transport today.

She however said they have asked Transport Board to operate this evening if possible.

“We have indicated to the management that were they able to get the buses up and running for the 6pm to 12 [midnight] shift that they should do so but those workers that we were able to speak to a short while ago are the ones pretty much that were out from this morning,” she disclosed.

Moore said some of the issues related to the appointments of acting arrangements for terminal managers and clerks and these issues were long-standing.

She said that over the next month, will allow the Transport Board to address these issues.
