Folks cry out after shooting

In another incident of gunplay, residents scampered after shots were fired in 2nd Avenue, Thomas Gap, President Kennedy Drive, St Michael, and two men injured yesterday afternoon.

They also joined the chorus of Barbadians pleading with authorities for stricter enforcing of measures against the background of the recent surge in gun violence.

When a Daily Nation team visited the area, officers had cordoned off the area by a shop in the area sometimes referred to as “Vietnam” and were placing markers in the road.

The lawmen placed a number of indicators at the points where bullets had penetrated a shop in the area.

Police said they responded to a shooting which occurred at about 1:10 p.m. yesterday afternoon where one man left the scene by car to seek medical attention at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, while another was reportedly injured. (RA)
