Youth making input on policy

Young people are playing a key role in the development of the National Youth Policy for 2022-2027.

Yesterday, during a consultation session at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Minister of Youth Charles Griffith said it was important to give young people a chance to have a say in a policy that is geared towards them, adding that this document was purposed with doing what was needed to help young people advance in society.

So far, a draft document has been created and it will be up to the nation’s youth to review and revise it.

Griffith said the policy was about renewal and rebirth, noting that in order for Government to impact the lives of young people in a significant way, there must be a bottom-up approach to how issues concerning the youth were addressed. (SB)
