Woman’s plea: Come back and finish the job

Camille Bryant is at her wits’ end once again.

Bryant, of Hopewell, St Andrew, was featured in the April 29 Weekend Nation pleading with management of the Haggatts, St Andrew depot of the Ministry of Transport, Works and Water Resources, to complete gabion work in front of her home which had been left abandoned for almost a year.

At that time the clay soil had started to erode, making it impossible and dangerous for her and her family to get in and out of their home.

Immediately upon publishing her plight, workmen returned to her home and secured a walkway and restarted work on the gabions. However, Bryant said that lasted just over a week before they were ordered to pack up, the equipment removed and the work halted again.

Recent heavy showers have left a collection of dirty, stagnant water in front of the house again, and the area is becoming mossy. (MB)
