Vision of a Legends Hotel

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has issued a challenge to investors – a proposal for the development of a Cricket Legends Hotel, which is to be located close to the Kensington Oval.

Floating the idea during a town hall meeting at “the Mecca” on Wednesday evening, Mottley said that her vision for the project was one which encompasses all the cricket legends of the region.

“I want to say to you that life is nothing if you don’t dream. The legends did not get to make money when they played, and I feel that we have a responsibility to help them make money for themselves and for those who come after. There is no reason for the Government to have a warehouse on the waterfront opposite Kensington,” the Prime Minister declared.

“I issue a challenge now and a formal request for proposals will go out this year that we want that site and the land that we own next to it, to be turned into a money-making machine for those who continue to bring glory to this country,” said Mottley during the meeting which was attended by legendary cricketers Sir Garfield Sobers, Joel Garner and Sir Wes Hall.
