Flash flood watch extended

A tropical wave will be affecting Barbados, bringing occasional heavy to intense showers.

Rainfall accumulations up to an inch are possible throughout the afternoon period.

As a result, a previously issued flash flood watch has now been extended from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday.

A flash flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area. It does not mean that flooding will occur, but it is possible.

This alert may be updated/terminated sooner, if conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
