Tight security for T20 World Cup

Those bent on disrupting the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup, better think twice.

Security will be tight, tight.

So says assistant director, strategic service, CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and Security, Earl Harris, who stressed that his team will leave no stone unturned in hindering the effects of those involved in transnational organised crime, illicit trading and human trafficking.

Harris was part of a regional panel speaking yesterday afternoon at a virtual news conference held by the Organising Committee of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, who reported their findings after staging a Security, Safety and Medical Summit for stakeholders involved in the June 1 to 29 tournament slated for the Caribbean and the United States.

He said much focus will be on border security, information and intelligence sharing, and threat assessments to the hosting countries.
