The doctor who attended Warren Mottley has denied that his kidneys failed sometime after his laparoscopic operation.
Dr Courtenay Chase said Mottley was exhibiting decreased urine output but this was a feature that followed laparoscopic surgery.
“During my time with Mr Mottley, his respiratory rate was normal. He had a normal temperature and these symptoms were not in keeping with sepsis,” she said.
The doctor was spending a second day on the witness stand when the inquest in Mottley’s death, by the assigned Coroner, Magistrate Graveney Bannister, continued in Court No. 1 yesterday. She will be back on the stand today.
Sir Elliott Mottley QC had suggested that Warren’s kidneys failed sometime during the night of June 28, 2021, but Chase denied this and said there was a feature called acute kidney injury. (HLE)
