Renaldo Mikhail Trotman yesterday confessed to unlawfully killing his father when he reappeared in the No. 3 Supreme Court.
Trotman, 30, of Green Park Lane, The City, and Sanford, St Philip, had originally pleaded not guilty to unlawfully killing Sylvan Trotman, 53, of Sanford, on March 23, 2012.
Yesterday, he was rearraigned and changed his plea.
He was represented by Queen’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim and attorney Lesley Cargill-Straker, while Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Alliston Seale prosecuted.
Pilgrim requested a pre-sentencing report and that Trotman be allowed to remain on bail pending sentencing, and Justice Carlisle Greaves granted the requests.
The judge ordered that the pre-sentencing report be prepared by August 10 and that Trotman’s time on remand be sent to the court by July 10. Sentencing was set for September 23. (HLE)
