Residents in Goddings Road, Station Hill, St Michael, are calling on authorities to fix the hill leading to their homes because they no longer have the resources to patch the road themselves.
Shurland Bryan, who had been living in the area for about 40 years, said about nine people in the area purchased land at the end of Goddings Road and were promised that the road would be completed, but it never was.
“Even the pipes are on top of the earth. A few of us who live down here and have vehicles, have to drive over the pipes. If we drive over the pipes it can make that friction and burst the pipes. If you look up there you will see a lot of the polyblu turn black because it is grinding down from the wheels travelling on it,” he said.
“Governments come and address the problem with the hill, but this is about 40 years that nobody ain’t come and do anything. We took down palings, we make all the other provisions for the roadway to happen, all they have to come and do is come and set up the other things, but still nothing. . . ” (RA)
