Pride 99-2 in their 2nd innings vs Hurricanes at tea

Barbados Pride, chasing 195 for victory, were 99 for two in their second innings against Leeward Islands Hurricanes at tea on the rain-marred final day of their first round match in the West Indies Championship on Saturday at Kensington Oval.

At the break, Raymon Reifer was not out on 45 and fellow left-hander Jonathan Carter was not out on 19, after Pride dismissed Hurricanes for 346 in their second innings about 15 minutes after play resumed following a rain interruption that caused lunch.

Before tea, Pride lost left-handed opener Shayne Moseley caught at second slip off pacer Jeremiah Louis, edging a loose drive.

Pride and incumbent West Indies Test captain Kraigg Brathwaite put on 58 with Wanderers teammate Reifer, but Test off-spinner Rahkeem Cornwall bowled him for 29 about three quarters-of-an-hour before the break, playing across.

Earlier, Test left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican brought the Hurricanes innings to a close when he got Louis caught at slip for 44, playing a loose drive, giving the Pride a minimum of 66 overs for their chase.
