President Dame Sandra Mason swore-in Dr Chelston Brathwaite and Dr Kristina Hinds this morning at State House to fill the two vacant seats in the Senate.
The appointments will bring the Upper Chamber to its full complement of 21 senators.
Brathwaite, 79, is the former director of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and a former Barbados ambassador to China.
Hinds is the Head of Department and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Government, Sociology, and Social Work at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill campus, and a former women’s national hockey player.
