Chairman of Goddard Enterprises Ltd Charles Herbert said they are very positive about the future.
Herbert was speaking today during a special ceremony to mark the end of the company’s 100th anniversary, at the Hanschell Inniss Complex, Fontabelle, St Michael.
During the ceremony a time capsule was encased. It will be opened in 2046.
Herbert also spoke about the importance of the 100th anniversary and gave updates on how the business was improving, as he said COVID-19 restrictions in 26 countries where the company operates, including Barbados, were easing.
More than 30 items were placed in the capsule, including pictures and information highlighting significant events; a small container of ash from the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano in St Vincent and the Grenadines in 2021; and an AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine canister.
Ninety-nine year-old Daphne Weekes, Goddard’s oldest pensioner, was given a special token of appreciation for her contribution to the company.
Michael Thornhill, the longest-serving Goddard’s employee, with over 45 years of service, was also given a token of appreciation. (SB)
