The Party Stand at Kensington Oval is set to be sold out for the remainder of the on-going five-match Twenty20 International cricket series between the West Indies and England.
Chetwyn Stewart, veteran promoter of Power X Four band, says the world famous carnival-like atmosphere has been a major hit for thousands of travelling English fans and tickets are scarce for the final two games of the series.
“The feedback so far has been great, tickets are going fast for the last matches, only a few are left and we have some days in March already sold out. March is doing even better than now. We are really looking forward to the days of cricket and we know the spectators are as well,” Stewart told Nation Sport yesterday during an interview.
“When we talk about profit, a lot of people just see cricket as the game but when you have over 10 000 English people coming to Barbados, everywhere is booming. All the bars and clubs are doing well and this is because the Government made sure it came here. . . ” he added.
