Parents reminded to stop sending sick children to school

Another plea is going out to parents to stop sending their children to school if they are showing signs of sickness.

It has come from president of the Barbados Union of Teachers, Rudy Lovell, and general secretary of the Barbados National Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (BNCPTA), Nicole Brathwaite.

Lovell said that was one of the issues raised during a meeting yesterday, following a second review with education officials of the February 21 resumption of face-to-face classes.

“There are still some parents who are sending children to school who are exhibiting symptoms, whether or not the symptoms are COVID symptoms, which can only be determined if they are verified by a test or a doctor. We would prefer that those parents not send their children to school,” he told the Weekend Nation.
