Students who have discrepancies with their results in this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) have until October 7 to submit for reviews.
The date was given by Deputy Chief Education Officer in the Ministry of Education Dr Roderick Rudder during a press conference on Saturday at the ministry’s resource room to update the country on the format this year’s Michaelmas term, which begins next week Monday, will take.
Rudder said the results returned by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) last Monday were preliminary and noted that CXC was continuing the process of engaging with ministries of education and schools to address some minor discrepancies which might have resulted at the time of the release of the results.
“For example, there may be some instances where some candidates have ungraded results, or instances where candidates – for one reason or another – might have been recorded as absent due to illness. The Ministry of Education is working with the Caribbean Examinations Council to address those discrepancies,” he explained.
Rudder said in cases where candidates received results and there were discrepancies, there would be an opportunity to reconcile. (RA)
