No damage reported from tropical wave

The Department of Emergency Management (DEM) received only one report of damage caused by the passage of the tropical wave overnight.

The DEM said at Holders Hill, St James an elderly couple reported that the roof to their house was leaking as a result of the impact of the weather system.

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) in its final statement, said the tropical wave did not generate as much rainfall as expected when it passed.

At 5 a.m., the system was still disorganised in its overall structure. As a result, most of the deep convection remained to the east and southeast of the axis.

Meanwhile, the surf remains high along some South Coast beaches. At the popular Accra Beach in Rockley, the red flag was up, signaling it was not suitable for bathing. (AL)
