Member of Parliament for the City of Bridgetown Corey Lane is fighting to ensure that residents of his constituency benefit from as many job opportunities from the upcoming capital works projects.
He also wants to ensure that there is no gentrification when projects such as the Hyatt Ziva Hotel and the Pierhead Project begin.
Lane is hoping to meet with chief executive officer of the Barbados Tourism Investment Inc. (BTII) Stuart Layne within the next two weeks to discuss the timelines.
“There are a number of projects coming, and I want to get some dates and timelines because I believe this can bring serious empowerment to the people of Bridgetown. I have already been given the assurance by the powers that be that the people will not be left out, in terms of employment and there will no gentrification.” (TG)
