A motorist who admitted his driving caused the death of his two friends was allowed to remain on bail pending the completion of a pre-sentencing report.
Shanty Bowen, 44, of Airlie Tenantry, Cave Hill, St Michael, was in the No. 5 Supreme Court where he pleaded guilty to causing the deaths of 37-year-old Candace Cindy Clarke and 49-year-old Michelle Gibson, on August 31, 2015, by driving his vehicle MY 819 on Congo Road, St Philip, in a manner and a speed dangerous to the public.
Clarke had to be freed from the vehicle by fire officers using the jaws of life. She later succumbed to her injuries at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Gibson, a former long-time resident of Black Rock, St Michael, where she operated a popular hair salon, was the front seat passenger and died on the spot. (HLE)
