Deceased man was ‘cool and polite’

The late Reuben Griffith was described as a nice, quiet, cool and polite person by his friend Diana Browne-Best.

The 31-year-old Griffith was the victim of a stabbing incident about 3:15 p.m. on Saturday while at the junction of Britton’s New Road and Gunsite Road, Britton’s Hill, St Michael.

Police report Griffith was involved in an altercation with another man where he received lacerations about the body and was transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital via private transportation, and was later pronounced dead.

When the Daily Nation visited Griffith’s Taitt’s Road, Britton’s Hill Stage 2, home, his family was not there but neighbour and friend Browne-Best said she was still in shock over the loss of her friend.

“He used to wash cars, cut grass and was always willing to lend a helping hand. I used to tell him not to get into any trouble and he used to listen to me. He had a rough past but he was turning his life around, I can’t believe this happened,” she said. (CA)
