Ministry of Education to host 11-Plus town hall meetings

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training will host a series of town hall meetings this month for the Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination (BSSEE) 2022.

A statement issued by Barbados Government Information Service said the meetings are being held to sensitise parents, guardians and teachers about the processes involved in the administration of the examination, also known as the 11-Plus or Common Entrance Examination.

All meetings begin at 5 p.m. The first of the sessions will be held on Saturday, March 5, at the Lester Vaughan School, Cane Garden, St Thomas, and the Alexandra School, Queen’s Street, St. Peter. This will be followed by meetings at Combermere School, Waterford; and Springer Memorial School, Government Hill, both in St Michael, on Tuesday, March 8.

On Saturday, March 12, sessions will be held at Queen’s College, Husbands, St James, and Daryll Jordan Secondary School, Trents, St Lucy.

On March 19, the town hall meetings will be conducted at St George Secondary School, Constant, St George, and Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St Philip.

Christ Church Foundation School, Church Hill, Christ Church, and Grantley Adams Memorial School, Blackman’s, St Joseph will be the venues on Saturday, March 26.

The series will conclude on Saturday, April 2, at the Alleyne School, Belleplaine, St Andrew, and St John Parish Church, St John.

Parents and guardians will be instructed on how to complete the online registration form for the choice of school, and will learn more about the deferral and special requests forms.

All COVID-19 protocols will be in effect. (BGIS)
