The Court of Appeal has reduced the sentence of convicted killer James Ricardo Alexander Fields from 22 years in jail to 11.
The appeal was heard on Tuesday by Justices of Appeal Rajendra Narine, Francis Belle and Jefferson Cumberbatch.

In February 2020, a 12-member jury found Fields, formerly of Bank Hall Main Road, St Michael, not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter in the shooting death of Michael Dear, on February 18, 2010.
Yesterday, the court, in a unanimous decision, dismissed the appeal to Fields’ conviction, but allowed the appeal to the sentence originally handed down by Justice Carlisle Greaves.
When Fields’ sentence was varied down from 25 years to 22 in July 2020, he had been also credited for six years served at Dodds Prison.
The 11-year varied sentence will be effective from July 2020.
