Jobs for homeless, says Saffrey

Some homeless people will benefit from the ICC T20 World Cup through jobs, says President of the Barbados Alliance to Endless Homelessness (BAEH) Kemar Saffrey.

He also is hopeful that the jobs they secured for a month, can lead to more long-term opportunities.

During a consultation on homelessness at Radisson Aquatica, Aquatic Gap, St Michael, Saffrey said that several people who resided in the closed Treasury Building in Bridgetown are expected to be paid for cleaning the streets in June.

“They came to us and offered us some work and they said we can have a Bridgetown crew. They said we want you to hire the homeless people for the month of June. So they did benefit.
