Immigration e-move afoot

Over the next two years, the Barbados Immigration Department will be introducing a wider range of digital services.

Minister of Home Affairs, Information and Public Affairs Wilfred Abrahams said by next year, members of the public will be able to submit and pay for passport applications online.

The department was also working towards the creation and rollout of the eVisa application and the online facilitation of applications for citizenship, student visas, work permits and extensions as well as the Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) and the online integration of the Embarkation-Disembarkation (ED) form and kiosks.

He was speaking on Saturday during the staff appreciation awards and dinner ceremony at the Sea Rocks Dome, Barbados Beach Club. (Nation News)
