Fire leaves five homeless

A family of five were left homeless after an early morning fire at their Allen’s Land, Black Rock, St Michael residence extensively damaged their home and destroyed their possessions.

Seven fire officers under the command of Sub Officer Blake and 2 fire tenders from the Bridgetown Station of The Barbados Fire Service responded to a call at 7:22 on Sunday.

Although there were no fatalities as a result of the blaze, the family of Keisha Hall, Terry Blackman and three others were distraught at the loss of their belongings.

Member of Parliament Ian Gooding-Edghill, visited the scene on Sunday, and said he would be contacting the Welfare Department and the National Housing Corporation.
