As police officers, insurance officials and other traffic officials conducted a collision audit yesterday at danger points in three parishes, an accident investigator and driver trainer are calling for motorists to stop using LED lights and other illegal colours in their headlamps.
In addition, the call has been made for an automated traffic ticketing surveillance system at major junctions to reprimand motorists who run red lights and break the law, all in an effort to keep the road safe.
Past president of the Barbados Road Safety Association and driver trainer Junior Jordan and traffic accident investigator Mark Sargeant made those suggestions yesterday, as they asked for more discipline on the roads.
Along with the police, officials from Cooperators General Insurance and representatives of the Transport Board who took part in the training spoke with motorists and other road users about the challenges they experienced in the areas of the Brighton/Lower Greys junction and Six Roads in St Philip around 10: 30 a.m. (TG)
