The weather system approaching from the east is forecast to pass “well north of Barbados” by late next week.
However, the Barbados Meteorological Services continues to closely monitor it and again urged Barbadians to be prepared as the peak of the hurricane season approaches.
The system is located about 2 230km or 1 400 miles to the east of Barbados and has been tracking west north-westward to northwestward around 10-15km/h (5-10mph) over the past 24 hours.
It remains disorganised and is still not expected to change much in terms of its structure as it tracks west-northwestward over the next few days.
“Over the past 24 hours extended forecast tracks have been persistent in a projected track well north of Barbados by late next week. However, the BMS is strongly recommending that the public listens for daily updates over the next few days,” a release said.
The next update will be issued at 6 p.m. on Sunday. (PR/SAT)
