Dems gather at the River

It was an atmosphere of fun and togetherness at River Bay, St Lucy, yesterday as the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) continued its 69th anniversary celebrations with a picnic.

Not everyone was 100 per cent on board with the location, given the large amount of rotting Sargassum seaweed nearby, but general secretary Steve Blackett said they had scouted the area beforehand.

“We did surveillance before to make sure the place was commodious enough for a picnic and we found the atmosphere accommodating,” he said.

Fortunately, the seaweed did not carry the high odour sometimes associated with it.
