CXC rewards top students across region

On the occasion that the best performances across the region were being recognised, a senior official at the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) lamented the number of children who left secondary school with no certificates.

Speaking at the 2022 CXC Top Awards Ceremony, which was streamed live from the Turks and Caicos Islands on Thursday, Chief Executive Officer and Registrar Dr Wayne Wesley said they were working with the local ministries of education to fill that gap with relevant programmes.

“CXC is making sure we create qualifications and opportunities for all students exiting the secondary education system. It is of great concern to us that we still have a certain number exiting the school system without qualifications.

“We are working with the ministries of education right across the region so that we develop programmes that are relevant and pertinent to our Caribbean people,” Wesley said. (Nation News)
