Cruise operators in a jam

Some cruise operators are complaining that Government’s mandatory vaccination policy is putting a damper on the entertainment sector’s attempt to rebound.

Several cruises scheduled for this month have had to be postponed, and there is a growing fear among some artistes that those who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 will be unable to work during the Crop Over Festival.

Owner of Live Wire Entertainment, Ingrid Holder, and Russell Wilson, one of the owners of pleasure craft MV Dream Chaser, are among those highlighting the difficulties they are facing.

Wilson pointed out that since December 2020, the MV Dream Chaser and the MC Buccaneer have not been allowed to operate as usual, unlike the catamarans and other pleasure vessels that resumed mid-2021. (TG)
