More than 200 people gathered at Kensington Oval yesterday evening to pay homage to cricketing legend Sir Charles Griffith with the unveiling of his statue.
Among those in attendance were former West Indies fast bowlers Sir Wes Hall, Joel Garner and Ian Bradshaw; legendary West Indies opening batting pair Sir Gordon Greenidge and The Most Honourable Desmond Haynes; and current West Indies seamer Kemar Roach.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley promptly arrived at 4:22 p.m. alongside several of her ministers and took her seat next to Sir Charles in the front row of the invite-only tent.
