Health authorities in Barbados reported on Tuesday detected another 114 cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to a news release from the Barbados Government Information Service on Tuesday, 43 males and 71 females returned positive findings for the viral illness from the 582 tests conducted by laboratories across the island on Monday, September 5. It included nine young people under the age of 18.
Health authorities also reported that 53 people were seeking medical treatment for the illness at government isolation facilities and 722 were being monitored in the home isolation programme of the Ministry of Health & Wellness.
The news release also indicated that 163 346 people (71.5 per cent of the eligible population) have received a single dose of a COVID-19 vaccine under the national vaccination programme for the viral illness.
Health authorities also indicated that 154 444 (57 per cent of the total population or 67.6 per cent of the eligible population) were now considered fully vaccinated.
The eligible population represents anyone 12 years and older.
