COVID-19 update for July 19

Health authorities reported on Wednesday tests have uncovered another 411 new cases of COVID-19 in the island.

Authorities indicated 200 males and 211 females were identified from the 991 tests conducted on Tuesday, July 19, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the positive cases, 59 people were under the age of 18, and the remainder were adults over the age of 18.

There were 49 people in isolation facilities, while 2 122 were in home isolation.

Under the national vaccination programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine is 162 834 (71.3 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully vaccinated people is 153 842 (56.8 per cent of the total population or 67.4 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older.
