COVID-19 fears at minimum in Oistins

Locals and visitors to Barbados  remain confident that even with major crowds at Oistins Bay Garden, Christ Church, they will remain COVID-19 free.

Despite a recent video making the rounds on social media showing a heavy crowd at the popular nightspot in Oistins, the crowds were back out on Friday night.

Vendors were busy servicing patrons, grills were fired up with an assortment of fish, long lines were observed snaking around kiosks, the Tuk Band worked the crowd entertaining visitors, all as police officers kept a watchful eye. However, members of the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit were seen at the south coast venue when the Sunday Sun was present.

In a previous report, Chief Medical Officer, The Most Honourable Dr Kenneth George, assured there was no double standard being practised in respect of Bay Garden and did not give promoters or entertainers any special treatment. (RA)
