Barbados is set to field one of its largest teams in the history of the Commonwealth Games.
Close to 100 athletes and officials will represent the island at the Games, set to take place from July 28 to August 8 in Birmingham, England.
While the full squad is yet to be announced, the news was revealed by president of the Barbados Olympic Association (BOA), Sandra Osborne, during a recent interview.
“It is good that we will have a big team because the system of qualification is a little different from the Olympics and it is a more inclusive games,” she told NATIONSPORT.
“It’s known as ‘the friendly games’, and I think that we are going to have a really good time, and I’m particularly looking forward to us being in Birmingham because of the Barbadian presence that is there. . .” (AGB)
