Carter tipped to be replaced by Kent Hall

Fitzgerald Carter is set to be removed as assistant head coach of the Barbados senior men’s national football team.

According to sources, the decision was made following a recent meeting involving high-ranking officials at the Barbados Football Association. (BFA)

The move was reportedly set to take effect from May 1 but up until last week, Carter was leading training sessions at the Wildey Turf in the absence of head coach Russell Latapy, ahead of the Concacaf Nations League competition next month.

Latapy has returned now and it is understood that the coaching staff and some senior players on the national team were informed about Carter’s removal.

Carter, who is expected to be replaced by former national midfielder Kent Hall, is earmarked for a new role as BFA talent development officer.

He was in charge of the national team last month for the 9-0 thrashing and 5-0 whipping versus Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana, respectively in a tri-nation friendly series.

Efforts to reach BFA president Randy Harris were unsuccessful so far. (Nation Online)
