BWA says pumping reduced from St John station

The Barbados Water Authority has been forced to temporarily stop pumping from one of its wells at a St John Station to prevent discoloured water from entering the distribution network.

As a result, customers in parts of St John and St George may be affected by water outages or low pressure.

These areas include:

In St John – Bath Land, Carters, Cherry Grove, Cheshire, Cliff Cottage, Coach Hill, Codrington, Gall Hill, Glebe, Guinea, Lemon Arbor, Massiah Street, Pool Land, Sargeant Street, Sherbourne, Henley, Rose Gate, Moores Land, Haynes Hill,  Stewart Hill, Society Hill, Small Hope, Spooners, Wakefield Tenantry, Welch Village and surrounding areas.

In St George – Macaroni Village, Ashbury, and surrounding districts.

Water tankers have been dispatched to assist customers in the affected areas.

The BWA apologises for any inconvenience caused. (PR/SAT)
