The Damarko Wiggins XI rolled over Raphael Lovell XI by 118 runs as trial matches to select the Barbados team for the CWI Rising Stars Regional Under-15 tournament got under way on Saturday.
Playing at Rubis Sports Club, captain Damaro Wiggins led from the front with 69 off 72 balls as they reached 236 for nine off the allotted 50 overs. His knock included 11 fours and one six and Seth Smith added 40 off 59 balls.
In response, the Raphael Lovell XI was bowled out for 118 in 27.1 overs. Reynaldo Bourne took three wickets for 13 runs.
At Foursquare Oval, the Gadson Bowens XI won by five wickets over Shem Sargeant XI, which scored 171 for eight off their 50 overs.
Barbados are the defending champions in the CWI Rising Stars Regional Under-15 tournament. Four squads comprising just over 50 players have been assembled, from which the national side will be chosen.
