BAS head: Time to cull monkeys

The local monkey population is at crisis levels and it is time for Government to institute an immediate cull to reduce numbers.

That was the call made by chief executive officer of the Barbados Agricultural Society (BAS), James Paul during a press conference today at the “The Grotto”, Beckles Road, St Michael headquarters of the organisation.

He said the monkeys had grown to extraordinary levels and were wreaking havoc on crops across the island.

James said there were more than enough hunters capable of getting the job done, but noted they might need more equipment. (RA)
