West Indies clinched the Twenty20 series against England in dramatic style, winning by 17 runs tonight at Kensington Oval here in Barbados.
Player of the match and series Jason Holder took four wickets from the last four balls to become the first West Indian player to take a T20 international hat trick.
England required 20 from the final over but Chris Jordan, Sam Billings, and Adil Rashid were caught down on the leg-side in a nerve-racking finale.
Holder then bowled Saqib Mahmood to complete a majestic five-wicket haul (5-27) and sent the home crowd at the region’s mecca into a frenzy. Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein had career-best figures of 4-30.
The atmosphere was electrifying, with partisan West Indies fans, screaming and jumping for joy with the visiting English fans left stunned.
Earlier, West Indies posted 179-4 in 20 overs with captain Kieron Pollard top-scoring with 41.
In reply, James Vince hit a half-century (55) as England were skittled for 162 with one ball to spear. (AGB)
