327 new COVID cases in Barbados on Tuesday

Barbados recorded 327 new COVID-19 cases – 147 males and 180 females – from the 1 609 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Tuesday, February 15.

The cases comprised 52 people under the age of 18 and 275 who were 18 years and older.

There were 126 people in isolation facilities, while 4 822 were in home isolation.

Three people died from the virus on Tuesday – a 67-year-old unvaccinated woman, a 76-year-old fully vaccinated man, and a 90-year-old unvaccinated woman.

As at February 15, there were 305 COVID-19 deaths recorded.

The public health laboratory carried out 571 144 tests since February 2020, and recorded 52 637 COVID-19 cases (24 400 males and 28 237 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 159 619 (69.9 per cent of the eligible population), while the number of fully vaccinated is 148 589 (54.8 per cent of the total population or 65.1 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
