146 new virus cases

A total of 146 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases (60 males and 86 females) were recorded on Thursday, June 2, from the 588 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The new positives comprised 25 people who are under the age of 18, and 121 who are 18 years and older. There were 38 people in isolation facilities, and 1 706 in home isolation.

Barbados’ confirmed COVID-19 cases stand at 81 174 (37 046 males and 44 128 females), and the number of deaths is 462.

The public health laboratory has carried out 688 875 tests since February 2020. Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 162 426 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully vaccinated people is 152 878 (56.4 per cent of the total population) or 66.9 per cent of the eligible population. The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
