A total of 142 people, 70 males and 72 females, tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) on Thursday, March 24, from the 844 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
The cases comprised 26 people under the age of 18, and 116 who were 18 years and older.
There were 45 people in isolation facilities, while 881 were in home isolation.
An 80-year-old unvaccinated woman died from the virus on Wednesday, March 23.
As at March 24, the number of COVID-19 casualties stood at 330.
The public health laboratory has carried out 606 962 tests since February 2020, and recorded 58 270 COVID-19 cases (27 006 males and 31 264 females).
Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 160 890 (70.4 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully-vaccinated persons is 150 816 (55.6 per cent of the total population or 66 per cent of the eligible population).
