115 new virus cases

Barbados recorded 115 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases – 49 males and 66 females – on Tuesday, March 22, from the 806 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 18 people under the age of 18, and 97 who were 18 years and older.

There were 50 people in isolation facilities, while 862 were in home isolation.

As at March 22, the virus had claimed 329 lives.

The public health laboratory has carried out 605 395 tests since February 2020, and recorded 58 018 COVID-19 cases (26 890 males and 31 128 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 160 832 (70.4 per cent of the eligible population).  The total number of fully-vaccinated people is 150 743 (55.6 per cent of the total population or 66 per cent of the eligible population).
