About Me
Jonathan Greene better known as “Master J”. Being in love with music his whole life, that’s how Jonathan describes himself as a DJ. Intrigued with spinning records and making crowds of people dance, he taught himself how to blend and mix tracks. Having grown up influenced by music, he never was afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. It all started in Trinidad and Tobago, in his younger years playing records for his grandmother. Nephew of the “Grand Master of Calypso - Lord Kitchener (Kitch)”, he naturally embraced his culture of Calypso and Soca as well as he plays an eclectic combination of, Gospel, Reggae, Funk, House, RnB, Slow Jams and Rock music all which became infused with his own style. “Master J” ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influences. Some of his mentors are “DJ King Papa Rocky “,”DJ Mad Man Maddy”, radio personality ”DJ Rennie Bishop”, “DJ Dr. Hyde”and his uncle “DJ Lloyd Caribbean Sound Machine”. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best.
A very active member of his local community in Montreal, Quebec CANADA, “Master J“ is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene. Though he loves playing in local parties, a community radio station, private and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes.
