The Barbados Water Authority repair crew has encountered delays on a 15-inch main at Pine North-South Road, St Michael.
Work was still in progress late Saturday night due to challenges with replacement of sections of this very old main, said a media release.
The road remains closed between Pine Plantation Road and the junction with the traffic lights while crews work to complete the repair.
However, as a result of the extended period of time that this work is taking to complete, water levels at the connected reservoir are now low and customers along Highway 7 from Bay Street to Oistins and surrounding areas may join those in Bayville, Chelsea Road, Dayrell’s Road and surrounding districts and start to experience low pressure or outages.
Personnel are working to make adjustments to the distribution network to minimise the number of affected areas.
The Authority’s tanker crews will continue to assist persons in the affected areas while the crews on site in the Pine work assiduously to complete the job as soon as possible.
The Authority apologises for the inconvenience and thanks all affected customers for their understanding and patience. (PR/SAT)
