The BWA explained that recent sharp extended rainfall resulted in muddy, chalky water from Bowmanston Pumping Station in St John and pumping was halted to allow the water to clear.
In addition to the private sector supplementing water to affected residents, the authority was increasing its community tanks, among other measures. It was also announced that a survey was conducted and 50 vulnerable households were identified to receive personal tanks.
