The tropical wave did not generate as much rainfall as expected when it passed Barbados overnight.
The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) says this is because the wave, located at 62W south of 15N at 5 a.m., was still disorganised in its overall structure.
As a result, most of the deep convection remained to the east and southeast of the axis.
Winds across Barbados have decreased to near 25mph from an earlier peak of 40mph with gusts of up to 50mph.
The BMS says this is the final statement on the system. (PR/SAT)
