Vehicles approaching from Broad street are not permitted to travel on to Trafalgar Street but are to turn left on to High Street.
In addition, on Tuesday, November 28, from noon until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, Wharf Road, from its junction with Bridge Street to its junction with Shepherd Street, will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
Lane Closures
On Monday, November 27, from 2 p.m. until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, the right lane of Trafalgar Street, from its junction with Broad Street and High Street to its junction with Rickett Street, will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Vehicles approaching from Broad Street are permitted to travel on to Trafalgar Street using the left lane only.
Also on Monday from midday until noon on Tuesday, November 28, the right lane of Wharf Road, from its junction with Bridge Street to its junction with Shepherd Street, will be closed to all vehicular traffic. No Parking
Vehicles will not be allowed to park, or remain stationary, except for the purpose for picking up or setting down passengers, on Constitution Road, St Michael Row, Bridge Street, Marhill Street, Rickett Street, Fairchild Street, Cavan’s Lane, River Road and Martindales Road.
All drivers and riders of vehicles, pedestrians and riders or leaders of animals using any of the roads specified are asked to exercise caution and comply with any order given by a member of the Barbados Police Service (BPS) in uniform.
These road closures and diversions are expected to have significant impact on the travelling public within Bridgetown and its immediate environs. Adjoining highways and stretches of roads will have increased vehicular traffic throughout this period and delays in journey times are anticipated.
All motorists, businesses and members of the general public are asked to take careful note of these changes and adjust their business accordingly.
Police officers will be present at various junctions to supervise movement of vehicular traffic in and around these areas. Motorists are advised to comply with the directions of police officers in uniform on duty in these areas and, wherever possible, seek alternative routes. (PR)
