The Serious Organized Crime Unit (S.O.C.U) of The Barbados Police Service has arrested and formally charged three men in connection with multiple drug-related offences.
Dave Rodney Sylvain, 48, and Richard Clarence Williams, 47, both of St. David’s Village, Christ Church, along with St. Lucian national Baggio Desir, 30, of Bobouannu, St. Lucia, were jointly charged for several offences committed on Sunday, August 18th at Sterling Road, St Philip.
The charges include:
Possession of cannabis
Possession with intent to supply cannabis
Trafficking in cannabis
Possession of cocaine
Intent to supply cocaine
Trafficking in cocaine
Authorities seized 258.10 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of $12,905,000 BDS, and 13.79 kilograms of cannabis valued at $121,680 BDS.
In addition to the joint charges, Baggio Desir was separately charged with:
Entering Barbados at a location other than a port of entry
Disembarking without the consent of an Immigration Officer
The three men appeared before Magistrate Bernadeth John in the District ‘C’ Magistrate’s Court today, Thursday.
They have been remanded to The Barbados Prison Service at Dodds and are scheduled to reappear in court on Thursday, September 19th, 2024.
